Cloak/Dagger – Untitled 7″

“No sand, no surf, no sun.  Real life is not much fun.”  If there ever was an anthem to start off the summer it’s Surf Song, and it’s barely Spring!

Richmond VA’s Cloak/Dagger are back with a new 7” on Jade Tree and if you’re into any of their other material or just a fan of flag-era hardcore you’re in for a treat.  With 2 songs clocking in under four minutes Cloak/Dagger blast through with an such an earnest ferocity you can’t help but get on board.  I hate to keep comparing them to the mighty Black Flag but, goddammnit, Surf Song would fit right in on Damaged.  Roaring against fatal cases of consumerism and the everyday bombardment of useless technology they yell “My mind is on vacation. It’s a one-way ticket, I’m not comin’ back!”.

I’m curious to find out if Jade Tree will be releasing more vinyl in the near future.  I read a little while back that bands like Cloak/Dagger and Paint It Black were forced to go to other labels to get their last couple albums released on vinyl as Jade Tree had no interest in the format anymore.

Kudos to the 7” coming with a download code for the Mp3s, and saving me the trouble of hooking up my iMic.  500 Clear / 500 Black so get ‘em while you can.
